Tonight in Zamora

Tonight I headed up to Zamora to attend a meeting of the Zamora Advisory Committee.

They were concerned about two things.  First the water ordinances.

The main issue of the night was the proposed re-entry facility to be located in the I-505 area.  It was pretty clear that not one person in the room supported the idea of Yolo County locating a re-entry facility in Yolo County other than me.

What I heard tonight from most people was -- anywhere but here.  Some people did bring up some issues of traffic and water but mostly they don't want the facility to be located there.

The reality is that we are talking about $30 million from the state to be included in the Capital Improvement Plan for Yolo County.  The people there felt that $30 million was not enough and that it was a sell out.

From my view we are trying to make good economic decisions for Yolo County.  It needs to go somewhere.

Matt...the scuttlebutt is that your a mouthpiece for the pond scum under the dome...and not Woodland's rep. How many of Jim Nielsen's finger prints are on this deal?
It all stinks to high heaven. Flesh traders....pretty disgusting.

Yolo Cal Vet:

I have not spoken to or seen Jim Nielsen in probably six months.

This is worth $30 million to Yolo County. $30 million. That is $150 for every person in Yolo County.

Gee...they can have my $150 and I'll add $150 to move it to Fouts Springs. I'm not in favor of Little Sing-Sing Community College in Dunnigan and what it will do to property values. Maybe move it up to Gerber....lots of room up there.

Throw my $150.00 into the pot and send the prison else where.....Yolo County home of a major Casino and now a prison.....what's next, a County ground water ord. to take water from farmers?

I guess I'd rather see a Nuclear Power Plant or a bio-diesel plant there rather than a prison. At least it produces something useful. Ship the prisoners with the 30 mil to Sheriff Arpaio in Maricopa County AZ, his solution reduces recidivism...go to www.arpaio.com
